Epoxy flooring cost
What epoxy flooring costs in Sydney, what every price includes, and what can move it. Single garages from $1,800, double garages from $2,500, driveway sealing from $1,500.
How much does epoxy flooring cost?
These are starting prices for a slab in reasonable condition. The quote is fixed in writing once we have seen the floor.
- Single garage epoxy floor, from $1,800
- Double garage epoxy floor, from $2,500
- Metallic epoxy floor, double garage, from $3,800
- Concrete driveway sealing, from $1,500
- Anti-slip additive, from $100
- Quartz additive for a P4 slip rating, from $250
Every epoxy price includes the sealer. Which sealer goes on depends on where the floor is.
What is included in the price
The price covers the whole process, not just the coating. In order:
- Moisture assessment, to work out whether the slab needs a moisture barrier
- Diamond grinding of the surface and the edges, with vacuum extraction
- Gaps and cracks filled
- One coat of epoxy primer
- One coat of epoxy base coat
- Full flake, partial flake or no flake broadcast, your choice
- The sealer coat on top
A garage floor is usually done in a day on site, with bigger floors running two or three, plus the curing time before the car goes back in. Evo's working figure is 72 hours before a floor goes back into normal use.
What can affect the price
The starting price assumes a slab in reasonable condition, so what moves it is whatever the concrete needs doing before the coating can go down. We check all of it at the quote.
If the moisture assessment shows the slab is holding water, it needs a moisture barrier before anything else goes on. That is extra material and an extra step.
Cracks and gaps all get filled before the primer goes on. A slab with a handful of them is quick. A slab with a lot of them takes longer and uses more filler.
Old paint has to come off completely, which means another round of grinding on top of the normal one.
Driveways are a bit different. The driveway usually connects to the paving around the house and out to the side gates, and most people want the lot sealed once they see the difference. So the $1,500 starting price is for the driveway itself, and the paving is quoted on top.
Polyurethane or polyaspartic sealer
The sealer is the coat you actually walk and park on, and there are two main types.
Polyurethane is the standard sealer for homes. It stops the colour discolouring, protects the floor from UV and adds a layer of hardness. For a garage, a shed or a home workshop, it is the standard choice.
Polyaspartic is the heavy-duty option. It is more chemical resistant and stands up to harder knocks, so it is mainly used on commercial floors and areas with a lot of foot traffic. If your floor needs it, we will say so at the quote and price it for you.
Anti-slip and slip ratings
A sealed epoxy floor is smooth, and a wet smooth floor can be slippery. For a home garage, an anti-slip additive in the sealer adds grip, and that is from $100 on top of the floor price.
Some floors need more than grip. Commercial kitchens, wet areas, ramps and public walkways often have to meet a P rating under the Australian Standard for pedestrian surfaces, AS 4586. A quartz additive in the sealer takes the floor to P4, from $250, for areas that need slip certification.
Tell us at the quote if the floor has to be certified. It changes what goes into the sealer, so it is easier to price in from the start.

Epoxy flooring cost questions
How much does epoxy flooring cost per square metre?
We price by the floor, not by the square metre, because the preparation is most of the work and it does not scale neatly. As a guide, a single garage starts from $1,800 and a double from $2,500, with everything included from the moisture check to the sealer.
Is metallic epoxy more expensive than flake?
Yes. A metallic floor in a double garage starts from $3,800 against $2,500 for a flake floor. The preparation underneath is the same. The difference is the floor itself.
What makes an epoxy floor quote go up?
Moisture in the concrete means a moisture barrier has to go down first. A slab with a lot of cracks and gaps takes longer to fill. Old paint has to come off completely, which means grinding the floor twice. We check all of that at the free on-site quote.
How much does driveway sealing cost?
Concrete driveway sealing starts from $1,500. That covers a pressure clean, an acid etch to open the concrete up, gaps and cracks filled, and two coats of sealer in a pigmented or clear finish. Most driveways connect to paving and side gates, and if you want those sealed too they are quoted on top.
Do I need the anti-slip additive or the P4 slip rating?
For a home garage, the anti-slip additive from $100 adds grip to the sealer and is usually all that is needed. A P4 slip rating with the quartz additive, from $250, is for areas that need slip certification, such as commercial kitchens, wet areas and ramps.
Is the epoxy flooring quote fixed?
Yes. After the free on-site assessment you get a fixed written price before any work starts.
